Inside Jesse Emory Science Workshop

Jesse Emory Science Workshop

Cogworks science workshops can be arranged in all the New England states. We bring a truck load of gears, pulleys, levers & wooden mechanisms to provide the ultimate exposure to simple and complex machines. The workshop also covers historical aspects of early American clockmakers and American craftsmanship.  Our wooden works tall clock watches over the proceeding, providing the starting and finishing bell!  Ideal for children's museums, science museums, history museums, school science fairs, and P TA special events. Workshops can be arranged for one to five days. The workshop is designed to inspire the student, and will have a lasting impact.

The workshop can be catered to age.  Typically the youngest suggested group is age 7-12 with a typical group size of 20 children.  Older students can be kept busy with more advanced mechanisms and instruction. Students of all ages are often interested in wooden works clock mechanisms, so we always bring in a Cogworks Jesse Emory chiming movement that can be taken apart and put back together. A clock can be built with Cogworks Set10 under adult supervision. Generally the workshops are arranged for a morning and afternoon session. A Cogworks representative is always in attendance throughout the duration of the workshop to instruct and answer any questions.
