Toblerone 100th Anniversary Chest

Client ~ Kraft

Toblerone is a fine chocolate bar made by Kraft Foods, Switzerland. It is best known for it’s triangular shaped packaging and chocolate chunks.Toblerone was created by Theodor Tobler and Emil Beamann in Bern, Switzerland, in 1908. The two gentlemen developed a unique milk chocolate including nougat, almonds, and honey formed in a distinctive triangular shape. The products name is a portamanteau combining Mr. Tobler’s name with the Italian word torrone ~ ( a type of nougat).

Cogworks fine blanket chests are constructed from solid Cherry, with Ash and Pine used as secondary woods. The 100 year Toblerone chest features a carved bear; a symbol of the Swiss capital, Bern. The bear is set in a Swiss Alpine mountain landscape. The Toblerone name and logo is deeply carved in the lid of the chest. The red painted letters are trimmed in 24K gold leaf along with the mountain design. The chest is finely finished with an aged cherry patina. The chest was made as a tribute to Theodor Tobler, Kraft Foods, Switzerland, and it’s loyal employees.

The Toblerone 100th Anniversary Chest is an example of the unique promotional displays we make. Thanks is given to Akym Kuzmick, Global Toblerone Brand Manager of Kraft Foods for his help on this project.

Gear Training Boards

Client ~ Amgen

Complex processes that have interdependent relationships sometimes have to be broken down into pieces. Industry experts have had great success using geared mechanisms as creative training tools. Manuals and training books sometimes are not the productive way. Process loops and direction of process variables can all be represented on a geared training board. The employee being trained, can "hold" a piece of the process and make notes.

From cooling system process in a nuclear reactor to the complex relationships in the pharmaceutical industry, geared training boards often help see through the mud!  We apply premium marker board to all training boards, because marking on the board is key to the learning process.

Shown; Gear training board in shipping case. Soft cases are also available. Gears are laser engraved to identify the process. Marker board can be inset in the back of the gears for process notes and information.

Geared Event Planning Calendar.

Client ~ Proctor & Gamble Company

This device helps the client  in planning events.

The 144 tooth cog represents events in a year. The four 72 tooth cogs represent biennial events. The four 36 tooth cogs represent quarterly events, and the twenty-four 12 tooth cherry cogs represent monthly events. The largest/year cog has a driving crank to get events moving! Events are written on the marker board inset in the gears. The matrix board allows the tool to be reconfigured from year. The exact planning algorithm is more complex than meets the eye!

Planning Calendar base is approximately 60" by 60" with the large 144 tooth cog 26" in diameter.

Factual Cogbox

D.R. Dimes Retail Gallery ~ Patriot Mill

Each gear has text written on to inform and connect facts ~ via the meshing of gears. On this particular Factual Cogbox shown, the writing on its gears educates customers on the special features of D.R. Dimes early reproduction furniture; making this product informative, unusual, and an amusing advertisement!

Besides advertising, The Factual Cogbox can be used by hospitals, schools and businesses to encourage employees to work together as a team. For example, different departments engraved on each gear encourages team effort; the gears when rotated demonstrate the importance of everyone in each department working together towards one goal.

Each gear is made from cherry with circular inserts. The inserts are grey on this box shown, but other colors are available on request. All gears can be moved around on their matrix base. The driving gear handle and pegs are made of polished brass.
